DOUBLE DUTY
BloApCo Model 5TOB / 5SC Trim Cutters are available with various knife arrangements designed to cut both heavy nonferrous metals and thin, tough films. Corrugated and heavy laminated fibre trim, up to 8 1/2 inches wide, are cut with equal ease. Standard units are capable of cutting 1 mil film. One cutter can usually handle a multiple ribbons of trim depending upon width and weight. The cut trim is in a convenient form for pneumatic conveying, baling, or other disposal. The 5SC Trim Cutter has a canted rotor for shear cuts. This increases cutting capacity with less HP and produces less sound radiation.
PRECISION ADJUSTMENT
Cutting is accomplished by one stationary and two rotating hi-alloy steel blades. Blades can be removed for sharpening and are independently adjustable. Precision tapered roller bearings eliminate end play and runout, permitting a knife edge clearance of .0005 in.
EASY INSTALLATION
Installation is quick and easy. Connect inlet side of cutter to the trim hood and outlet side to exhaust fan line. Provide a 1 to 5 HP electric motor, depending on application, to drive the Trim Cutter. Cutter speed may be between 100 and 2000 RPM, depending on type of trim, weight, and web speed. The cutter makes two cuts per revolution. To determine the average length of the cuttings, divide the lineal speed of the trim by two times the RPM of the cutter. Under normal conditions, cuttings should be less than 12" for smooth trim flow. For heavy trims, a flywheel is recommended. To provide air to pick up and convey the trim, use a presently owned fan or a BloApCo Trim Handling Fan. The Model 5TOB / 5SC are designed to pass 2500 CFM of air at a loss of 1.5 inches of water under average conditions. Open rotor design permits free flow of air through the cutter, while outboard bearings prevent grease contamination of product. The 5TOB / 5SC are V-belt driven and is furnished complete with drive guard. The straightforward design and minimum of moving parts make the BloApCo Trim Cutter a dependable, trouble-free investment.
