Centrifugal
Fans
BloApCo's fans are centrifugal, i.e. the flow of air thorough the fan follows
the same path as the rotation of the blades, as opposed to an axial fan where
the air flows through the blade, parallel to the centerline of the blade supporting
shaft. Our fans are design to move large volumes of air, at high velocities,
but at low static pressures; i.e. our standard model fans are designed to operate
from 1,000 to 20,000 CFM, at pressures up to 18" of water. We purposely
do not show capacities of our fans beyond 18" S.P. because of the stresses
that are imposed on the fan wheel structure when handling heavy loads of material
at the rotational speed necessary to achieve pressure beyond 18" S.P. 18"
S.P. is usually reached at a fan wheel tip speed near 15,000 FPM or 170 MPH.
